StealthPath is seeking a front-end Application Engineer to build everything a user sees and interacts with on a browser-based application (the UI) for multiple StealthPath products. This will be done per the design specifications provided by the UI/UX designer. Candidate must have solid experience in developing Front-End UI’s using a combination of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build SPAs as well as experience leveraging a relevant web framework. Although the candidate filling this role will be primarily responsible for development of the front-end, the right candidate will need to understand the back-end components, the application, server, and database that make up the foundational structure of the application, so they are able effectively contribute to the overall design and identify issues with the overall design. Optimally they would be a full-stack developer with a heavy concentration on the front-end.

Required:

  • 3+ previous experience in UI, engineering, UX, programming, or related position with a proven track record, portfolio, and sample projects
  • Web fundamentals like HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
  • Strong working knowledge of JSON/XML
  • Strong working Knowledge of CSS preprocessors like SASS, Stylus, and LESS
  • Proven experience architecting web applications using JavaScript libraries and frameworks like AngularJS, React , Backbone.js, jQuery and Electron
  • Knowledge of web application bundling tools like Webpack, RequireJS, or Browserify
  • Knowledge and experience using Node.js and NPM.
  • Knowledge of Front-end (CSS) frameworks like bootstrap.
  • Experience developing SPA (Single Page Applications)
  • Security conscious developer, Security certifications, such as: ESCP, CSSLP, GSSP-JAVA, GWEB, GSSP-NET, etc. are preferable
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and collaborate with UX designer and product development staff

StealthPath is looking for an experienced and creative user experience/user interface designer/developer with full stack development experience to join our engineering team.  The candidate will be responsible for creating, designing, and implementing elements that optimize user interaction while shaping a unique, user-centric experience with the StealthPath product suite that establishes confidence in the product suite as an intuitive, easy to configure, easy to use, and easy to maintain solution.  The ideal candidate will understand the differences between User Interface and User Experience design, and leverage/mold them together seamlessly.  The ideal candidate will have a creative yet organized approach to tackling problems and creating solutions.  They will be able to think outside the box and apply their creative genius.  We want our StealthPath products to have an innovative WOW factor, but not too much that the customers are uncomfortable with the change.   The candidate will be able to leverage their experience working in teams with software engineers, database architects/developers, and IT to develop and  integrate all aspects of full stack development.  Although the candidate will be empowered to make deliberate design decisions and translate any given user-experience journey into a smooth and intuitive interaction, they will need to present and defend those ideas amongst a team of practical, minimalistic, structured engineers.  As engineers we understand the importance of building a product with an appealing design and user experience, but don’t understand how to do that effectively.  Candidate will need to help smooth off the edges and guide the engineers through that process.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate on scenarios, end-to-end experiences, and screen designs
  • Build wireframes and storyboards to conceptualize design for build and test
  • Define visual elements, product elements, and overall design
  • Define user flows and sitemaps
  • Evaluate and set best practices and standards
  • Work independently and determine timeline and deliverables
  • Implement designs – working with engineering and database architect as needed
  • Conduct user testing of applications, software, and websites
  • Perform and implement user research for surveys and feedback

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design, Architecture, or related field
  • 10+ previous experience in full lifecycle UX, full stack and UI development, or related position with a proven track record, portfolio, and sample projects
  • Hands-on experience with multiple visual design programs such as Photoshop, Sketch, Illustrator, InVision, UXPin, Quartz, Angular.js
  • Hands-on experience in wire-framing tools, storyboards, user flows, and site mapping
  • In-depth understanding of UI; an understanding latest design and technology trends and their role in a commercial environment
  • Hands-on experience with HTML, CSS, Java, JavaScript, IT, and programming troubleshooting
  • Artistic eye for design, user interaction, functionality, and readability
  • Able to think creatively while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail

StealthPath, a small high-tech R&D company, located in the suburbs of Washington DC, has an opening for a senior level embedded systems software developer preferably specializing in data networking applications. The main focus of the position includes full life-cycle software design, development, coding, implementation, security integration, and testing of security software.

Required items and skills for the position:

In order to be considered, the potential candidate must possess the following attributes:

  • Write robust, high-performance, maintainable code as a leading member of the team
  • Be a part of a team working on a high volume, highly available security platform that is critical to the success of the business
  • Participate in design discussions and take ownership and responsibility over projects elements
